Week 24

Scripture for the week:
2 Nephi 4:15-35, (Here's just 34 and 35) =D
34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.

35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.

Week 23

This Ward is Amazing! They're doing a pretty good job on keeping each other updated, and communication is a Strength that is uniting it all together! I've been so busy, I've loved every moment of these amazing Miracles that come from the Ward and the Missionaries seeing the Vision!

Week 22—Summerville 2nd Ward, Charleston

So I am now in Summerville 2 Ward in Charleston, training “my son”, Elder Kimball. He has a good heart, and a burning passion to be here that reminds me of myself when I was in training. The Ward here has been truly incredible.

Week 21 (WL)

Transfers! I have had AMAZING experiences here in the Windsor Lake area!  I have met amazing people and will cherish these experiences always! As I leave Windsor Lake these are my parting thoughts: I humbly give all that I have and devote every gift and talent the Lord has blessed me with to build up his kingdom. And I faithfully trust in my God, and my Savior, that my mind may be opened to behold the visions and revelations that are given to me to help build the Saints up in the Kingdom and Glory of God. I stand ever as a witness of the Divine Glory and love of our Savior Jesus Christ. I love this Gospel, I love sharing this Love with everyone.

Week 20 (WL)

“The Savior’s grace is always sufficient”—Brad Wilcox

Week 19 (WL)

Happy 4th of July! :) we heard a lot of fireworks and celebrations! I pray that everyone feels the gratitude and Joy in celebrating this wonderful reminder for our freedom. I went over Alma 61 & 62. And made a cool marking in my scriptures for the Title of Liberty =D

Week 18 (WL)

Oh, how grateful I am to just be here and part of this Amazing Work! I'm so thankful for the other missionaries and my family, and our Investigators; to learn and grow with them!

Week 17 (WL)

Awesome Gandolf quote. J.R.R. Tolken (Thanks mom)

Week 16 (WL)

I know our Heavenly Father is very aware of us all, and is refining us to be the Beautiful Master Piece he knows we can be. I'm so grateful for all these blessings and all the Things that I have been given to help me learn and grow into the person to recognize his blessings and enjoy all that he has in store for us. It's all for us and the things we go through truly help us become better and enjoy more blessings in the End. Always trust in the Lord! Take it one moment at a time! And be the very best you that you can Be! As my Mom has told me "There is only one You, and you’re the very Best YOU EVER!! 😄

Week 15 (WL)

So here's my Power Scripture for y’all this week! =D I loved this concept in Alma Chapter 29. Alma explains that one of the greatest possible sources of joy is converting others to the truth.

Week 14 (WL)

Friendly Turtle while Walking (it was terrified) so we help him across the street into the pond :)

Week 13 (WL)

Love you all!! This week has been crazy haha, we've been walking Elders this entire week because Elder Boone's bike needed to go into the shop for repairs and my Bike has a flat I needed to take care of. Walking all day everyday in the humid sun, haha, it makes for one of the greater experience of trekking. =P

Here's a scripture thought for ya’ll ;) John 4:9-14 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? "Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

Week 12 (WL)

So the Primary Leaders organized a "Book of Mormon Stories" activity for the Primary kids. They asked us, the Missionaries, to do Samuel the Lamanite and Alma and Amulek. There was also David and Goliath, Joseph Smith’s First Vision and some others. It was so much Fun and a great idea. We acted Samuel the Lamanite 4 times, and Alma and Amulick 4 times for the kids. They were so sweet, they had passports, and we would give them a sticker to put in their pass port when their little group was done watching the reenactment. it was like being in a Liken the Scriptures Movie =D  Elder Lino was Samuel the Lamanite, and I was Alma and Elder Boone was Amulek, Elder Fife was the Chief Judge haha, They loved us in that one haha :) we had our minute of fame by the Ward haha. We had a lot of fun doing this.

Week 11 (WL)

Scripture Chapter thought for this week, Alma 32. This is where Alma is teaching to the Zoramites and helping them understand Truth to dispel the false Doctrine they have grown up with. The Zoramites are very poor and Alma teaches them about the Doctrine of Faith as simply as he can. He explains to them that Faith is like a little seed, that must be planted and taken care of. As it grows it becomes like a tree where the fruit of eternal life, like we learn from Lehi's vision, can be picked. The Fruit being the Word of God, Wow! So some of the things from this Chapter we can get are:
A) Affliction is what usually humbles people and prepare them to hear the Word of God. "Blessed are those who are Humble without being compelled to be Humble."
B) Faith is God’s gift to those who serve him.
C) In order to Develop Faith, we Must begin with the desire to do so.
D) Faith is Hope in the Truth "Word of God"
E) Faith isn't to have a Perfect knowledge of things, it is things which are hoped for, not seen, but that are true.
F) We cannot know anything of a Surety at First like Alma says, but we must plant and Nourish the seed of Faith properly and with Diligence.
G) Our Seeds Only Grow and Flourish if it is not cast out by unbelief or "Resistance" to the Spirit.
H) We can tell which things that are good, because our "Soul will enlarge" and cause a swelling in the Bosom" (The Promptings of the Holy Ghost) And Probably one of the Most important Points We can find is
If our Faith is Neglected, it will wither.

I love how Alma explains this so well! Faith Provides trust, Hope, and Confidence!! WOW! Haha, anyway hope this helps y'all in any way it can.

Week 10 (WL)

Hello Everyone! =D
This week has been Amazing! Just a couple of thoughts: I know striving to live by the Mission Standard the Lord has set is the way we can not only have the Spirit with us on our Missions, but to help us learn things that would take maybe like ten years to learn otherwise, To help us become our best selves, the way God sees us. It's Incredible to see he's prepare us, and helping us to get ready for his coming. It's an honor to be part of this great work. Taking it day by day, enjoying the Journey! Haha sometimes just taking it minute by minute. =D  Uncle Iroh (The Avatar) quote from McKay: "While it is always best to believe in oneself; a little help from others can be a great blessing"

Week 9 (WL)

There is no way I could do this work without the Lord's comfort and strength he gives us, and from all the Prayers that are said for the Missionaries. I'm so glad to be here, I say that all the time because of how much of an Honor it truly is that I feel to be able to be part of this work. Among the Ranks of my friends, And Family =D And it's good to always remember that as often as I can. All I want is to be able to help others feel the saving power that the Gospel will bring them. To be their friend and let them know that everything will be alright in the end, keep moving forward. It's not easy, nor should it be, but it's worth it. It's worth everything to come down to earth to experience this gift and to try to learn how to become like God. I'm so grateful to have been able to grow so much so far. It's a blessing to be able to have this time be a booster in our life's for helping others and preparing for the 2nd coming.

I'm starting to see why they say the summer is the sticky months, haha, you are literally always sweating, even if you just walk outside fora moment.

Week 8 (WL)

I had an amazing experience that happened today that came from a prompting of the Spirit. We were walking past this house to go past the street, and we saw some younger looking couples talking at their door step, I started to walk up and then they started to yell at each other, we kinda stopped awkwardly for a moment in the middle of their drive way, and started back for the road. I didn't want to add to the reason for them yelling at each other than to us. So as we started back to our other place, I then felt the strong push to go up to that house and talk to them. At first I thought, naw, that's just my wanting to try and help (FYI haha, that was my first hint that the Spirit was trying to give me, never be afraid to help and be nice) and where I would end up causing more trouble, I don't want to be that person who is sticking his nose in other people’s business, so I tried to push it aside, but then It came back even stronger and I then knew what was happening. I knew we needed to go and talk to these people, I told my companion this and he was like, oh man I hope we don't get those beer bottles thrown at us. So I started to walk up and I was like, breath, that's the key, breath haha. When we approached, one of the Couples went inside calling out of few words and shut the door, and the guy was standing at the porch, looking down. I said, hello and we asked if he needed any help with the car part he had in his hand. He looked up at me for a moment and started to laugh, and said no, but thank you. We ended up talking to him for a bit and he told us what was happening. I asked him if we could say a prayer with him before we leave, and he said he would like that. I remember praying for him and his family, and other things that came to my mind during the prayer. As we walked away, I knew what we just did was what the Lord wanted us to try and do. I don't think we’ll really ever see him again, but we stopped and gave him comfort and helped lift him up in his time of need.

Week 7 (WL)

When the Savior said Love thy Neighbor as thy self, I realized that we must love ourself so we can love others and feel as happy for their accomplishments as our own. If we don't love ourselves first, we can't really love others, It's like when we were told we can't help lift someone up if we're already below them, we must be on higher Ground first to help them up. Its selfless love =D You find yourself as you try to give yourself to the Service of others. That's a really fun blessing there =D And the Tools for that is just a simple smile to someone, or saying hi, the small things, and we end up feeling happy in return. =D thought I'd share that fun reminder I got while studying =D Being ourselves, trying our best to do follow Gods council and trusting in the Lord=his Atonement, and everything else in our life's will work itself out as we do so.

I love you all!! You’re all so amazing! Thanks for all you Love and Support! You know you have mine, Keep pressing Forward!! =D

Week 6 (WL)

I'm so grateful for my Savior, and the Love and Strength he gives us all as we do our best. Trust in the Lord with everything. I know he loves us so much. Jesus is our Chieftain and Leader in this Great work of Salvation. One of the Biggest blessings and funny things about Missionary work, is you are always tired haha, It's hard work, your either calling or talking to people, or doing service in helping the Ward or anyone you feel guided to do so. But as you just enjoy the Journey and give it your all, you’re always at peace, and happy. =D The Lord gives the strength to keep moving forward, as we put all our trust in him. He will never move us forward in the Grand game of Chess, more than what we can handle, As long as we just do our best, he makes up the rest. I know that by making the best of each situation as much as you can is a way to truly recognize Gods love for us. That is one thing I didn't realize until after a few weeks out in the Field, is how proud he is of his Children when they smile and try their best to love one another. It makes life and everything we do so fun, the Mission is a blessing that strengthens you and gives you that blessing of knowledge in how to be at peace with yourself and deepen a love of one of the greatest gifts that we have, Families. And that they can be together forever, and that's why we're out here, to bring others unto Christ.

One of my favorite quotes is, "Missionary, someone who leaves their family for a short time, so others may be with their family for eternity." =D

Week 5-(WL)

We got taught so well in the Direction on where to go, and how to maintain our journey to it. By trying to improve every day, I loved what Elder Holland said, Just trying to do our best, and God will bless us with strength and making every day a blessing. It is absolutely true. I know that as we continue forward, taking it one step at a time, just doing our best while enjoying it with the best attitude we can muster, God loves that, and will bless us for being selfless in what we do. Keep Enjoying the Journey, and always smile, even when you don't want to, especially when you don't want to =D and you will lift someone soul up as well as your own. One thing I have been learning again and again is how you don't have to be the best speaker, or best service maintenance person, as you be yourself and let others know you care about them, it goes a long way. Gandalf nails it when he says "It the small acts of Kindness, everyday deeds done by ordinary folk that keeps the Darkness at bay."  Keep on keeping on with the small things everyone! =D

Week 4-Windsor Lake Area (WL)

Today was awesome. In the south, you quickly get embraced by the culture and the love they have for Jesus, God, and really all y'all.  With the strength of our lord, as we put our complete trust and faith in him, we can do all things that he sends us to do, just by taking it one small step at a time, doing your best with each step. And great things will happen by doing so. Alma 37:6-7 and Proverbs 3:5-6.
My companion and I

Week 3-Last Week at the MTC

I love this work, and I love our Savior Jesus Christ, who made it so we could live with our Father in Heaven, and have peace in this life! On to South Carolina.

Week 2-Still The MTC

Losing yourself in the Work and Service is the Key, and Just Enjoying the Journey, Being yourself, and doing the Best you can to follow the Saviors example, and studying and having a plan, and going back to just doing your best in all those things, That will invite the Spirit, and you can go into any lesson, any situation or anything you need to do, and the Spirit will be with you, And the best part about it to, is the spirit will take care of everything, as you then just be yourself and do your best, Keeping your mind open and clear, (not worrying about what you need to say, because doing that, being just focused on yourself and what you think you want to say can tune your mind out to the Promptings of the Spirit,) Missionary work is incredible, and so fun, and Life in general, always Trust in the Lord, and He will always help you through. =D Proverbs 3:5-6

Ran into some awesome people at the MTC

Week 1-The MTC

So many truths and blessings are given to us by our Father in Heaven. He speeds up the time for his Missionaries to learn scriptures and the lessons. He loves us so much, I know that he lives, and that he loves me. I am so grateful for the spirit teaching us all with such power, the training that the MTC has for its missionaries is a calling from our Father in Heaven. Read D&C 42:29: If thou lovest me, thou shalt serve me and keep all my commandments and Isaiah 26:3 too!!! =D
